Protecting Innocence: AIM Foundation's Commitment on the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

๐Ÿ“ŒOn June 4, 2025, AIM Foundation solemnly observes the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the countless children worldwide who suffer from physical, emotional, and psychological abuse due to conflict, exploitation, and violence.
Understanding the Significance

Established by the United Nations in 1982, the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression was initially a response to the suffering of Palestinian and Lebanese children during the Lebanon War. Over time, its scope has broadened to acknowledge the pain endured by children globally who are victims of various forms of aggression .
๐Ÿ›‘The Current Landscape

Recent reports highlight the alarming realities faced by children in conflict zones:

In Gaza, over 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023 .

More than five million children have been displaced due to wars in Yemen, Myanmar, Sudan, and Ukraine .

The recruitment of child soldiers persists in over ten nations, including regions in the Sahel, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic .

These statistics underscore the urgent need for collective action to protect children's rights and well-being.
